So I am always really jealous of everyone who has access to thrift stores, you seem to get some amazing bargains! My closest thing is ebay and I bought both of the dresses below including postage for less than 5 each, both new with the tags.

However, they were both ill fitting at the top because I am very pear shape so very little on top and no dresses ever fit, I have to make my own. So i decided to turn them both into skirts, et voila!

The black jersey skirts was easiest, I only had to turn the top hem down as the mid part was already elasticated, the floral one works as high wasted but I had to unpick the whole top part (re do the zip as I accidently pulled original off dammit!) and then re sew the top hem and add a hook and eye. I kept the top parts as thought the floral straps may make a nice handbag strap and I'm sure I can bling something up with those sleeves.

Now just waiting for Spring to arrive although it seems to be brightening up. I didn't use a tutorial in particular, just read through a few but if you do a search you'll find oodles to look at.

Thanks
