It's just a party here at the Fabric Printing Swap!!!  I had to drive to get internet access and phone reception.  The husband & I are in the middle of no-where and it's gorgeous.  We hiked a slot canyon this morning and found a panel of Anasazi petroglyphs.  1300-1700 or something like that.  There's a Visitor Center with some of the discoveries of the Anasazi clothing.  Their designs and colors are amazing.  They utilized what they had so their dyes/paints came from the flowers and shrubs and soil.  It's making me think of how much we have available and how easily it is to exchange ideas these days.  Back then, they had to walk for days or weeks to the next 'town'.  Now, all I have to do is post a question about adding a medium to acrylic paint and you all tell me your experiences!

Here's my two cents worth on batiks...

There are a lot of them out there that are more "printed" than others (like this example-- http://www.fabric.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=ca127606-4c3c-30e6-e043-2a59000a2831 - where the fabric is stamped with the butterfly in wax and then dyed)... I'm thinking if you go that route, it's definitely covered.  But like I said, that's just my two cents  Grin

I made up a quick linocut the other day and practiced some inking techniques today. I think I'm going to print this on some natural beige duck cloth for myself:

That's sweet and id agree stamping wax would fall in the bracket. Ive always thought of print as something you can reproduce over again.   Cheesy
