... the label on one (I didn't try the others yet), left a sticky residue on the fabric. Does anyone know how to remove that without damaging the fabric? I don't think regular hand-washing will do it, and I'm pretty sure I can't print over the sticky spot.
I'd try soaking in warm vinegar and gently rubbing with my finger.  Followed by Dawn dish soap.  Solves most (not all) of my stain mishaps.

And Edel... your post about the Mickeys cracked me up.  Laugh out loud on that one!!!

Thanks for all of the suggestions! I'll try them out in order from least "toxic" (dish soap) to most (goo gone). I tried the "sticky to sticky" solution last night, but it's embedded in the fabric...

After taking the fabric out of the dryer, I now realize why the FQ labels all say "Do not pre-wash." The edges of the fabric frayed and all of the pieces were tied in a knot by the frayed threads. I cut the threads to release them from their thread umbillicus, and now I just need to iron them before I print!

This happened to me too.... I didn't even realize you weren't supposed to pre-wash fat quarters.

I hit the edges with pinking shears and hang dry to avoid this issue.

Good to know! I'll remember that for the next time Smiley

Thread umbilicus. I LOVE that.  Cheesy
Also, I did the same thing, but because I chose to "make" my fabric quarters by cutting my own from yards I had, I didn't have the label. Not that I'd read it anyway, because that's no fun.  Roll Eyes

In other news, I have been so sick this past week. I don't think I've ever been so happy for a slight extension of the due date (from the original 5/31 to the 6/3).  I'm normally a horrible procraftstinator anyway, being sick made it even worse.

I am new to crafting. Only been at this for a few years.

My friend and long time crafter told me that I'm paying too much for paints. She claims that you can use acrylics. I asked if she adds fabric medium, and she said it's not needed.

This seems so strange to me. I hoped that more seasoned crafters could enlighten me.

I normally use tulip paint, And for this swap I bought speedball.

Thank you

I finished up last weekend and let everything dry before rewashing yesterday. Everything is dried and I am packing them up now to ship during lunch tomorrow Smiley

Grrrrr... After a computer fiasco (still not completely resolved), I had to re-work my plans. And, after a trip to the store to get the new supplies, I am sitting around waiting for things to dry (glue and fabric paint), so I can continue. Things did not dry as quickly as I had expected... So, I'll be a bit late in sending, sadly...
