I'm thinking that I should do test samples like you said.
Test 1 can be one layer and over to the side I can add the fabric pastels.
Test 2 can be two layers and over to the side I can add the fabric pastels.
Test 3 etc. etc. etc.

Till I find out what the limit is.  Again Ivory, thanks  Smiley

Okay.  Heat set and hand washed.  One layer is fine.  Two layers are fine.  Three layers are fine.  It's the D@RN fabric pastels.  They do not adhere over the acrylic/medium paint mixture.  The fabric pastels are only functioning properly as their own layer.

Also, any place where I've applied too much paint where it is slight 'texture' appears to be a potential issue in numerous washings.  Armed with this knowledge, I am off to create a new piece of fabric art.

Multiple layers! I'm impressed!

And, I came home today to find, sitting on the porch, the box containing my new cutting mat, so I can stick with my original silk-screen plans for certain fabrics. The package arrived just in time! Woot!

So just a bit of news - I'm having a major bit of technical difficulties with my computer which means I can only access the Internet through my iPhone touch for the time being. That being said, any updates to my groups send/receive status is going to have to wait til I can get my computer issues fixed.

Cannot find my squeegee...will be trying a "shower squeegee" instead.  Plan to finish this weekend barring (further) incident!

The squeegee was ok, except it was too wide for my smaller screen, so I had to use the big screen. It does have a nicer handle than the printing squeegees usually have.

Since I am using thickened dyes, I won't be able to see if the prints turned out for another day or so.
