Wow, what a thread.

I am playing catch up - I don't seem to be getting notified of updates to this thread anymore  Sad

There are so many lovely mugrugs here, mine is in transit, so I am waiting and eagerly checking the post each day.

Can't wait for mine to arrive, so it can join the gallery of awesomeness  Smiley

Annigirl has received my mug rug on Thursday, so I am going to go ahead and post photos now Smiley

I left the edges unfinished, and put extra fabric layers between the top and bottom so that as it frays a little, you will see extra colors and patterns. I also mimicked the stitching that suereal did on my prayer flag recently and went all crazy on the stitching over the applique. For the front piece, I went with my partner's "hippie" theme... "peace, love, coffee/tea" Wink

I went outside the traditional mediums for the back piece and decided to do a little needle-felting on the wool sweater that I cut to go in the middle of the mug rug. The back went with my partner's "nature" theme.

Unbelievable work everyone! I'm going to wear out my Pintrest button!

Organizer Note:
Everyone should be up to date.  If something is off please let me know!  Thanks!

Also, Sorry I've been MIA.  I went from a cushy office job (with lots of free time to prowl around on the internet) to driving a company truck all day with no computer access.  Trying to adjust lol  Grin

oh what a neat rug! did you put stabilizer in the petals? I love the 3-dness (new word) of it.

And the mushroom mug is adorable! I love the colors used on it.

I was wondering why I wasn't getting anything in my "replies to your posts" for this gallery...that would be because I haven't posted here yet, duh!!!

There are SOOOOOOOOOOOO MANY amazing mug rugs up in here!!!  I gotta say, though...the robot one made me SQUEE!!!  I really love the steampunk one, too.  AAAAAAAAAAND...I LOVE cathedral quilts!!!  I made one for my first MAQ Smiley

BUUUUUUUUUUUUT...I gotta say, the mug rug I received from deadsweaters is pretty much the coolest thing ever, in my humble opinion.  I LOVE classic monsters, and boy did she make me a happy lady by sending me this mug rug of awesomeness Grin  She also sent some amazing extras...

Here is a closeup of the cuteness:

Thank you SO SO SO MUCH...I love it SO HARD!!!!!!!!!!!

Love the French themed mug rug!  How pretty to do the "flag" in flowers with the proper background!

I thought the Peace mug rug was two mug rugs at first...wow, both sides are great...the mushroom scene is so lovely...I would have a hard time choosing which side to use!

Also, the monsters are so cute...a fun way to have your hot beverage and snack...with some friends! Cheesy

Glad you like your mug rug amnesia! Cheesy

The binding was the hardest because I am trying to work my stash--the only binding I could find was from 1965! Cheesy  It was a bit skinny, so I had to sew it on by hand...I forgot how meditative sewing by hand can be! Cheesy
