I used a New Look pattern #6480 and an AFI t shirt to make this corset. It has 9 panels, boning, and a side zipper closure. Kind of a simple corset (no lacing, grommets, etc) but it's my first one. I will be making more. I want to make corsets out of ALL of my t-shirts! It's nice since it has the corset style but is still comfortable!

AFI Despair Faction t shirt corset:

I had to alter the pattern a little to better fit my shape/size and also adjusted the shape of the corset a bit more to my liking. Sorry for the poor picture quality!

What a great idea to turn a t-shirt into a corset. It looks great.

I'm very impressed. I didn't think it was possible to make a corset from t-shirt fabric.  I thought it would be too stretchy and would wrinkle.  Yours is lovely and neat.

Wow that turned out great! Grin Is it stretchy enough to just slip off, or did you put in a zipper?

It's not stretchy at all! I put a zipper on the side.  Smiley

love the corset, love the band:)
is the tshirt put over stiffer woven fabric?

Yes, I did use woven fabric as a lining.

I am totally doing this with my DF t-shirt! Amazing Smiley

Are the AFI logo's patches or how did you work it with the boning so there are no bumpy bits? (I hope that makes sense - I have dyspraxia so my written language is not the best)

Pure awesomeness!  I can't swear that I will actually attempt this, but I will now have loads of wonderful daydreams of turning my well-loved band tees into rockin' corsets.  Why, oh why, didn't I ever learn to sew properly?!  The quality on this is so ridiculous that I doubt many would believe it was homemade.  You are one talented Craftster-er!  Smiley
