I've always loved silly photo booth props like mustaches on sticks or funny glasses because they get people to relax and have fun when you're snapping a picture of them. For the recent One Awesome Harry Potter Thing swap I created a Harry Potter inspired photo kit for my partner, snagged from Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, naturally.
Everything was created from scratch, from the box that held the items to each individual piece. I hand painted every item, with the exception of the Snitch which was made using scrapbook paper. The labels for the box, bags & drawers were created in Photoshop. This is the most involved project I've ever worked on. Surprisingly, it was the box to hold the props that took the longest and gave me the most trouble. The props themselves were fairly easy
Box top: Weasley's Fabulous Box of Magical Photo Fun for Muggles
The Drawers inside the box: Things on Sticks, Things on Clips, Things without Sticks or Clips, Tattoos, Buttons
Things on Sticks: House pennants, Hedwig, Trevor, the Sorting Hat, Death Eater Mask, Mad-Eye Moody's Eye, Dumbledore's beard & hat, Harry's glasses, Luna's Spectrespecs.
Each of these items has velcro on the back so it can be attached to a stick and easily held.
Things on Clips: House ties, a pink Pygmy Puff
Each of these items has a small alligator clip attached to the back.
Things Without Sticks or Clips (flat props to hold): Rita Skeeter's acid green quill pen, Sirius Black's Azkaban prison sign, love potion, a Howler, bottle of Butterbeer, Remembrall, Snitch, Harry's wand
Temporary Tattoos: Dark Marks, Harry's scar, Azkaban prison tattoos, the Deathly Hallows symbol
Badges/Pin-back Buttons: Head Boy, Head Girl, Inquisitorial Squad, Weasley Is Our King, Quidditch Captain badges for each house, Prefect badges for each house

You can see a ton more pics here, including my daughter modeling every prop: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tapestrymlp/sets/72157633205808296/
And in case you're not tired from all the pics, some making of shots:
Altogether I used one roll of Duct tape, six huge sections of bristol board, four pieces of card/poster board, 3/4 of a bottle of Modge Podge, four dowel rods, and dismantled three large packing boxes. My house looked like a tornado hit it for about a week while I was making the box & drawers to hold all the props. Plus I mis-measured for the final box so there was some recutting and cursing involved. Heh.
