For the recent MAQ swap, my partner listed autumn and her two dogs among a few other themes. I've been on a upcycled sweater kick for the past year or so, and I wanted to try out a sweater "quilt" to felt on. So the whole base of the quilt is made of sections from several thrift store sweaters, each with more than 75% wool/animal fiber content. I machine washed/felted some and others I left as they were. Then I hand-stitched it all together. The tree, pile of leaves, and two dachshunds are all needle-felted wool decorations/embellishments. I added a bit of hand-stitching on top to add extra detail as well.

Oh, your project looks amazing! I remember when you were just cutting out the squares from the sweaters---what a transformation! Great job!

Lovely quilt and such an unusual idea. How big is it?

Had to look up your swaps to know that MAQ means Mini Art Quilt. Got it. Very cool. The details on the leaves by the dogs are pretty cute.

Thanks, everyone! Cheesy

Lovely quilt and such an unusual idea. How big is it?

I don't remember the finished dimensions, but the squares were about 6" before sewing them together... so a little less than 18"x24" would be my guess.

Your quilt has a homey feel to it. The dogs are very cute on the pile of leaves.
