I finally got to the store to get some milk today. I decided to spoil myself and get 2%, so when I make some coffee syrup tomorrow, I can pretend I'm a kid again Smiley

The coffee is brewed (all I had was decaf, but that's okay!), and once I have a cup or two, I can get started!

I made mine last night and it's fantastic! I finished off the 2% with a hearty dose of syrup. Good thing I only had a little bit of milk left- I could have had a half gallon to drink!

Today, I had to switch back to skim milk (vacation is over, the diet is on, so goodbye 2%!). At least it makes the milk taste good!

I started up with 3 cups of coffee and ended up filling a jar, with some leftover (which I dumped into my milk). I am a very happy gal right now!

I think I have a vanilla bean stashed in the cupboard, and I might add that in to soak in the next batch... Oh, the possibilities!

I made this! Working from home I'm usually the only one drinking coffee so I frequently have too much of it sitting around after I've had my fill. I just saved up the leftovers and used that. Smiley It's actually too sweet for my personal tastes but knowing that I'll just reduce the sugar next time. (I will definitely make it again!)

What wonderful memories this evokes for me!  My mother would make us girls a drink similar to this - a tall glass of cold milk, with lots of sugar, and two or three tablespoons of coffee.  Mummmmmm good!
