I have a question about the July Fandom challenge.  How new is "new"?   Huh  Something new to us, that we haven't made before, or something new to the geekdom, like a new character, setting, adventure, etc?

Sorry, I might be overthinking this.....   Tongue  Just need some more information about what the word "new" means in this context.....

I am going to try a transfer technique I've seen for fabric. I should be able to print out a mirrored image on wax paper and transfer it that way. If not I have a spare canvas ready lol.

Definitely overthinking (which I am always guilty of).  Create something that would fit into a Geekdom.  The new bit is for you creating something new as in any item.  I'll go delete the word "new" in the prompt to prevent any other confusion.  (it's a superfluous really...I'm known for being a bit too wordy at times)

Silentblair--my splint is dark blue, bulky and ugly...no way to make it lovely...I am finding even embroidery is tough because I can't hold the hoop properly Sad

I am enjoying all of the projects and ideas...I am determined to find projects I can do with minimal use of my dominant hand...ha..do we get extra points for our "nerdy, crafty injury handicap"? Grin

i'm not sure how often we are supposed to post research project updates, but I measured the bag I am making and it is a whole 2.125 inches tall at this point! Woo-hoo, every row grows it by about 1/8th of an inch. It might end up being a fairly short bag because some of my strings are on the short side at this point. three weeks was the minimum for a research project, right? I have been at this for longer than 3 weeks and I still have quite a ways to go.

I was sure that with 10 days vacation time I would have much more finished. I have a big party to plan so whats left of it will be busy. I am half way finished with three projects. Now if I could just finish them.

Updates are just not mandatory, just for fun and show others your project/progress.  And I feel you, I'm on week 5 of my project, but I'm almost done! Grin

Arghh stupid tablet. All I just type is all gone!

Well, I am bored of myself for never having enough yarn for any project.

I got this two skeins of yarn, thinking of making a hat and a scarf.

Tadah! I finished my hat and started my scarf. I'm half way done.... And figured out I don't have enough yarn for the rest of the project. What should I do?

1. Start this pattern with other yarns which I dont know if there are enough for this scarf.

2. Continue using the yarn from the hat, and start the hat over.

3. Modify the pattern, may be 2 repeats instead of 3. But then I have to redo the finished half to match.

4. Keep the finished half, pretend to be cool... And used it as it is.
But then what to do with 1/3 skein of wool.

Here is the picture of my half done scarf...
