Thank you, La Chapa!  I don't think I will be doing needle-felting, I want initially to try wet felting and see if I can create a scene with the two colors of wool I hope to obtain.  If it doesn't work or is too crude, I might get a felting needle and try that.  Smiley  Or I might wet felt the basic shapes and then embroider over them.  I'm not sure and this will all be an experiment.  I sorted the wool yesterday and hope to start washing it tomorrow.

Thanks for the well wishes, and yes Ms. Bunny: I think I may have some tricks up my sleeve...or splint! HA!

Imagine my comfort when I entered into Google "de Quervain's will I knit again" and towards the top was a topic thread from our beloved Craftster!

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=144299.0#axzz2XLVT0yhd

I've found I can still hold a paint brush and run things through a sewing machine! Scissors are a bit tricky...maybe just using the rotary cutter?
Silver Lining:
If anything this is really going to let me think outside the box!!!

I've been staying up to date with the threads and trying to sneak some crafting in here and there the past couple weeks as I finish up my thesis, but...today was my final presentation!  I'm officially graduated and now I get to spend the rest of the summer crafting away.  I'm still hoping to have my research project finished by Friday, but that might be pushing it just a little...perhaps by Sunday.  Grin

lol Ludi...the smell of wet wool...much worse than just looking at it...I do love the feel of the natural lanolin, though...

silentblair--uh, thanks for your post...I am so sorry for your condition, but you also have given me something to go see my doctor about...I have been knitting shawls for over two months now and I can't seem to grasp my left thumb to my other fingers without a lot of pain and work..I am going to look this up...I put my needles down and am going to stop until I know what is going on!
