No, really!   Cheesy  I didn't even have an embroidery hoop until just recently (wow, it helps tremendously!  Who knew!  Tongue  )  I do a lot of hand sewing for my paying work, so I'm comfortable with a needle, but my most "natural" material to work in is clay.

I love it when people are inspired to try other mediums...it is nice to have a comfort zone (mine is sewing)...but it is exhilarating to try new things...I love what you have been doing with your embroidery, Ludi...definitely defining your own style and doing some unusual pieces...

I haven't gushed enough about how significant this craft-along has been in my life.  I had been suffering from a months/year + creative block, and this craft-along has busted me out of it completely; I keep having more ideas and more excitement about new projects!  I'm exploring a new medium for me, embroidery.  Previously I had only done one embroidery at age 8 or so and a few odd pieces with some decorative stitching on them, but nothing like a real piece of art.  I've also enjoyed playing with miniatures and mixed media, and will soon be endeavoring some papercraft as well as felting.
Oh my, this warms my heart...I do love when the crafty muses sing! Grin  And my goodness, I thought for sure you were an embroidery master...well you actually are....I just can't imagine the awesome you will create with more experience under belt because I'm already in awe of (& covet) all your pieces!

Thank you so much.  I floundered around quite a bit with the earlier pieces, but by studying websites and tutorials, I'm improving the neatness of the work.  I hope to do more portraits.   Smiley

So, I've decided I'm going to jump in this summer's games as a ninja, with declared geekdoms of Doctor Who and Lord of the Rings. That should cover most every idea I have so far Smiley

Ludi, I checked out some of your embroidery 'cause you all got me so curious. Holy crap!!! You're a natural, for sure. I picked up embroidery when I was young (11 or 12, I think) after my friends and I read the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants books  Grin It's been awhile since I've done anything but repairs by hand, though. I may have to pick it up again.

I'm exploring a new medium for me, embroidery.

You've got to be freaking kidding me!!! With the masterpieces you are pumping out Ludi, you don't really expect us to believe that this is a new medium for you!!!  Wink  Well, if this is new, I cannot wait to see what you can accomplish when you've mastered it!!!!  Holy crow!!

sorry, Ludi, but I've gotta agree with bunny.  your work looks like you've been doing it for years.  mine looks like I've only just started...which I have.  Cheesy  you have some SERIOUS skills!!!

My grand idea for this month's battle isn't going to work out.  Bah!  Lots of wasted time.  I'll post my failure here when I'm not so bummed.  On to the back-up idea!
