Right now, I should be working...

Darn that work!  It sure gets in the way!   Cheesy

I finally decided on a project.  I'm probably dropping the "I've got to get me one of those" and instead doing  "judging a book by its cover."  If I can keep it from getting too epic.... Tongue

Work sure is a pain! And, it doesn't help that I have to have one thing finished by tomorrow morning, and then I have to have a marathon session to start and finish something else for 9:30 Wednesday morning. And, it had better be right on target, too, because I'm going on a mini-vacation, and won't be back until Sunday night. And, my presentation starts at 8 am on Monday Tongue

So this is a mini mental break Grin

I also keep refining what I'll be doing to meet some of the challenges. I have a couple of tasks I need to get done for the start of school next week, and I know that one of them will definitely fit the "Proverbs" category (I had something else planned, but I'm not sure if it'll be done in time).

I think I definitely need to bail on my research project. With the wrist brace, I still can't do it. Which really stinks because I have about 20 hours of "passenger time." I wonder if I can weave in tails on Granny's Daughters? I'll have to test that out! It won't fit a challenge, but it would be a good use of my time Smiley

I am so close to being done with quite a few projects, the only ones I still need ideas for are Fanfic and the tools one. Any ideas??? I am super excited that this is continuing, I know that it has helped me a lot with my creativity and problem of finishing projects. Can't wait to see the ideas for the next one.

My fanfic project was going to be a scene from my favorite book which I've never seen a depiction of, so it would be new in that way.  I still hope to do the project, even if it never fits a nerd-along challenge.  Smiley

My original machines project idea was a steampunk image with a clock, using the pulley as my machine.....

Holy cow! I thought I'd get a couple of things done this week, but nothing yet. I have plans for an item tonight (maybe two, depending on how things go), but tomorrow night I have to crank out a set of birthday gifts (or at lest a representative sample). I'll have Sunday and Monday to tackle an item or two, I think. Just like stefaniegk I am close to finishing a bunch, so hopefully I'll be posting a mega-finished-projects post soon!

I sure pooped out here at the end of the Games.  Everything I wanted to make got too elaborate and time-consuming, and then family stuff took over much of my time.  But I plan to be active again for the Fall Nerd Battles.  I hope to combine swapping and nerding.  My house filled up with nerdy projects, so I'd like to be able to make stuff but not necessarily keep it!  Smiley

Ludi, I tend to make things for swaps that I want to keep, so I was happy to finally be crafting for me! I finished an item today, and if I can get past the "I am desperate for a nap" stage, I will finish the last bit of one more. Then, I can start the presents I need for tomorrow, and sneak in one more (and part of a second) item for the Games.

I need to check my list to see how many items I can actually get done in these last couple of days!

ETA: I have 4 items "in progress" and 2 items finished. That leaves me 5 items to start/finish this weekend. One is the Zombies Ate My Brain one, so it should be super quick, and another is using a similar technique... but I need to learn something first so it may take a bit longer. Another should be simple enough, once I get it started, and the 4th one has a super easy first part, but I might add a more time-consuming second part. And the last one won't be hard, just time consuming (it has multiple steps).

Question: I have a project where I am making patches for lack of a better word. The individual patches will be entered under different categories. Can I submit the project as a whole in another category?

Also I have an online project that I have been doing on tumblr, it fits one of the categories but it's entirely online. Would this be accepted?

I'm also pming you pinkleo.

Thanks!

For your patches I think it depends on what you are doing.

For example when I knit and turn in blanket squares for class projects in a kniting craftalong I do, I don't turn in the whole blanket as well, however if you are adding something to it like a borders, linings, pockets or backing that is more involved than just joining the pieces then it might be an item you can turn in on the merits of the additional work you've done.

But refer to Pink for final say.

Hi stefaniegk! Grin  I'm answering here instead of PM just in case someone else has the same question.  Generally, if you turn in the individual pieces to fulfill a challenge (i.e. patches, blanket squares, quilt blocks), then the completed piece would be turned in as a WIP project.  From now on there will monthly WIP (Works in Progress) challenges so your WIPs will always have a home in the battles/games. Grin

Since there are varying crafty circumstances, if you believe that your WIP project should qualify for a challenge prompt or Research Project, then feel free to post or PM me about it with your explanation.  I'm always open to listening.  Mostly I just want to inspire and get people crafting.

Hope that makes sense and help. Grin
