my fingers hurt from stabbing them SO many times.  Cry

I feel it!  When I have to do a lot of difficult hand sewing, I wear a hole in one of my fingernails because I use it to push the needle.  Wearing a thimble just gets in the way.  I keep meaning to try to find a leather thimble to see if it helps, but forget to look for one at the store.  Tongue  Sometimes bandaids help but usually just catch the thread annoyingly.....

you wear a hole in your nail?!  OW!!  Sad  then again, when my needle gets stuck either while making my needlebooks or bead weaving, I'll use my teeth.  actually, I used to.  about 6 years ago, I was doing some bead weaving and my needle got stuck.  I grabbed it with my teeth...and I chipped my top front tooth!!!  now I keep a pair of small jewelry pliers handy.  Wink  thimbles are useless when it comes to what they're meant for.  I turned mine into a necklace.  lol.  if I could get a better grip with band-aids, I'd put them on all of my fingers.  I wouldn't care about the thread getting caught.  as long as I'm not stabbing myself, that's all that matters.  I did get myself good last night.  Sad  still no blood, but it freaking HURT!!!  oh, and I've never heard of leather needles.  maybe that could help me too.

I have a "thimble" that is a piece of wrapped leather with a metal bit in it, it's meant to let your fingernail poke through.  MUCH better than the standard thimbles...

I am so behind... But, I have my Battle project just about ready to make (part 1 tomorrow, part 2 Tuesday). I also have a couple of other challenges that I can post (one was for a swap so I have to wait for it to arrive). I have modified ideas for most of the challenges and I just need to clear off a spot on the table to set up the sewing machine (I think I can manage machine sewing).

When I was embroidering my garden gloves my fingers were starting to suffer. I put on the right glove to finish the left otherwise it never would have been finished. The thin but sturdy leather allowed me to push the needle through the heavy drill fabric that was meant to protect you from thorns and it gave all my fingers gripping power. I have tried adhesive thimbles for quilting as I hate traditional thimbles, but only the glove seems to be comfortable and works.

Finally starting to embellish my felt moons.  I may only embellish two of them.  Or I may decide to make more.  This Research Project might not get finished until the end of the Games......   Huh

My other projects are dead in the water.  I might just decide one is finished, and call it a "sketch."  Definitely not as productive this month as previously.

I tried to many new techniques and instead of having a beautiful  black stripe I ended up with all green

Sad

I don't know whether I should turn in my battle project or not.

well that's it.  my project for the battle won't be finished in time.  Sad  I should have known better than to take on such a large project so late in the month.  oh well.

it would have been another point for DC though.  it's a Batman cross stitch.  I'll still be happy to have it done at all.  Smiley

That sounds awfully ambitious, Krafty.  I didn't even join the Battle this time.....   Tongue
