The Games have been extremely inspiring to me!  For a long time I was barely able to make anything, or even have an ideas, but now I'm full of ideas and making stuff all the time.  But my projects keep getting more complicated.....   Tongue

The essay was very touching and meaningful...thanks for sharing it!  It made me realize even more how much we all have in common in all parts of the world...dealing with death and grief is the same all over...the rituals might be different but the human aspects are not...

Ludi--I love your progress pictures...I think they are interesting as I am learning as you post...it is like following a weekly tv show! Grin

I have become speechless from all the awesome stuff in the gallery.  I want to comment but I am too worried I will forget someone so I am silent.

my fingers hurt from stabbing them SO many times.  Cry  I haven't drawn blood again yet though, so that's a good thing.  I just don't feel like I'm going to get in done in time though.  Sad

I have another quick question:

Game Challenges
You may complete challenge any time during the games, but you may only submit each prompt one time.

Does this mean you can complete any month's challenges throughout the whole thing, or does one month's entries have to be submitted in that month?

Yep, you can complete any month's challenges throughout the whole thing. Only battles need to be completed during their month.

I feel it!  When I have to do a lot of difficult hand sewing, I wear a hole in one of my fingernails because I use it to push the needle.  Wearing a thimble just gets in the way.  I keep meaning to try to find a leather thimble to see if it helps, but forget to look for one at the store.  Tongue  Sometimes bandaids help but usually just catch the thread annoyingly.....

you wear a hole in your nail?!  OW!!  Sad  then again, when my needle gets stuck either while making my needlebooks or bead weaving, I'll use my teeth.  actually, I used to.  about 6 years ago, I was doing some bead weaving and my needle got stuck.  I grabbed it with my teeth...and I chipped my top front tooth!!!  now I keep a pair of small jewelry pliers handy.  Wink  thimbles are useless when it comes to what they're meant for.  I turned mine into a necklace.  lol.  if I could get a better grip with band-aids, I'd put them on all of my fingers.  I wouldn't care about the thread getting caught.  as long as I'm not stabbing myself, that's all that matters.  I did get myself good last night.  Sad  still no blood, but it freaking HURT!!!  oh, and I've never heard of leather needles.  maybe that could help me too.

Did three more felts for my Research Project, these all just wool, no silk.  One turned out kinda little and sad, so I'll use it as the test piece for trying out embellishments.  I tried felting in a ziplock bag, but that did not work for me, so again I used a sushi mat.  This was a different style of sushi mat than the one I started with, which fell apart.  The first one had round strips of bamboo, and felted really well but started falling apart almost immediately.  This other mat has flattened bamboo strips and is not as fast at felting as the first one, but doesn't seem to be falling apart at all.
