This guy turned out to be a lot bigger then I originally thought he would be, but I went with it and he came about quite well... He is about 10 inches long (not including his tail) and about 7.5 inches high. So the size of a very small cat or very large kitten.

I started with a wire frame and then built on that. He is a lot stiffer then I wanted him to be so less posable then I wanted him but you can still move him around into a stretch and a semi sitting position.

Here he is before he had features or fur...

And here he is finished...

For those wondering, I used 20g wire for the skeleton covered in floral tape. I think I am going to find a thicker wire if I I make another big one like this.
For his whiskers, I wondered what I was going to use and finally thought of the some upholstery thread that I had lying around and I think it is "purrfect" for this. it is a bit floppy but I love the floppy whisker look.

Congratulations. I can't believe you never made a cat before. He is brilliant - and amazing that he is almost life-size.

Thank you so much everyone! I will have a hard time seeing him go. As you know, there is a lot of work that goes into making these creations!

I just love his eyes and nose!  Especially the fine black lines around them.  I love the white highlights too!
