I've made these for both Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day, so I thought it would be fun to make it for Easter too!  This is originally posted on Instructables: http://www.instructables.com/id/Easter-Egg-Rice-Krispie-Treats/

Supplies:
  • Rice Krispie Mix - Rice Krispies + Marshmallows + Butter
  • Marshmallow Fondant - Marshmallows + bit of water + Powdered Sugar + Food Coloring
  • Corn Syrup
  • Sprinkles

I made about 12 oz total of marshmallow fondant and that was plenty.  It all depends on how you will decorate them though.  If you are going to cover them with stripes or dots, it will take more, if you are going to cover them with a thin layer and sprinkle them, then not so much.  Just remember, this stuff is very sugary, so roll it out thin!

I made the shape by jamming the treat mix into plastic eggs, closing them really tight so the krispies started cracking and then just set it out on wax paper to harden a bit.

I used a couple different methods to decorate them.  You can do them all different or make them all the same.  It's up to you!  As long as they taste delicious, you're set!  Which is your favorite egg?  I love the all dots one!

That is so great. Using the plastic eggs is very genius.
