Thanks for the heads up sheepBlue!

I'd be interested in joining, pending on life lol

My input with fabric size, well I do pretty intricate repeating patterns usually so doing a full yard would be a pain in the butt to match up. Probably would prefer to do smaller than that size.

Smashu - I hope you join!! I've loved all the printing I've seen you do, especially the details to your cosplay outfits.

sounds cool - count me in. Smiley

Since I'm a newbie when it comes to fabric printing, I think I'd feel better sticking to the size of a fat quarter. That way, if I botch it, it isn't too much fabric wasted. I'd be willing to swap multiple fat quarters, however!

This sounds really cool.  Will there be a colour preferences? Straight up cottons or different fabrics?  What about the option of multiple partners? I'm greedy like that with fat quarters, more, more more!  Grin. Are things like sun painting considered printing techniques?

Seeking scraps! I'm in need of a variety of white on white scraps. (2.5inch square minimum) for pixel quilts. Have any? Swap for? PM me! Smiley

I know the intention is to have a low stress swap, but it could be fun to have a group and send 1 piece of fabric to everyone in your group. So, if you had 4 people in a group, you'd get 3 fat quarters, one from each person in your group. And, if I had my printing method down, I could easily (I hope... because then I wouldn't have my printing method down, right? Cheesy ) print more than one fat quarter...

I'd be open to either way, though I figured one FQ for everyone was manageable and easy. If the group as a whole wants to do mini-groups of 3 or 4 I could set it up that way too. A group of 3 would be perfect so that you could print a whole yard, and then send 3 of the 4 quarters, keeping one for yourself.

Let's hear the yays or nays?

I'm a yay! Cheesy  Especially because I know I will have printed fabric envy and want one of everything. So, at least if I can get one from 3 other people, I'll be happy! Grin

My name is craftADDchick and I am a fabric junkie...

Oh, this swap does sound like fun! I'm not nearly as skilled as some of you (or all!) but I'd live to give this a shot.
A single fat quarter is my preference. A whole yard and so many partners is kinda scary for me. Smiley

As much fun as it would be to receive fabric from multiple people I think sticking to 1 FQ would keep it simpler for everyone and make it less intimidating for people who want to try printing fabric for the first time too.

I could make it an option to have 1 or 2 partners, and pair accordingly? I think that would be a good compromise between the two options.

And sorry sloth - I forgot to answer your other questions...
You can include any color/fabric/etc preferences in your questionnaire but I'm not going to make any requirements for the swap. I know for my own printing I always do it on 100% cotton because the ink I use works the best on that kind of fabric. And yes, sun painting is definitely considered a printing technique.  Smiley
