This was my first colored pencil-only realism drawing. My only reference was a black and white photo from a magazine ad, so I had to improvise his skin color.

Very nice! Colored pencil is surprisingly different from just graphite, but so fun to build and blend. I use Prismacolor Premier. What did you use? And is this Ron Paul? My hubby thought it was when I showed him.

Thanks, I actually just used crayola colored pencils lol. Usually I just use graphite and blend but I didn't do any blending in this one just a lot of layering. I didn't even know who it was until a few minutes ago when my dad guessed it and I had to Google it (haha), it's Harvey Keitel.

Holy cow, just Crayola?! I am even more impressed now! Prismacolor tend to blend a little, especially if you use a blending pencil of just wax, so it feels more natural for me.

WOW!  That is some impressive blending with Crayolas!  And I guess I am showing my old age when I instantly recognized Harvey Cheesy
