I've been taking part in a Pinterest challenge on my blog, and one of my pins I picked was a gorgeous necklace from Parc Boutique that was no longer available, so I decided to make my own version.

I didn't have anything like the focal beads from the original necklace, so I spray-painted some cheap plastic gems!

The cabs are glued to paper bases and surrounded with bead embroidery, then I backed the paper pieces with some faux leather scraps, then glued them together in the final arrangement.  Aside from my particular leather pieces not bonding well with hot glue (which made me go out to get E6000, which I now wonder how I ever crafted without!) the whole thing went pretty much exactly as I envisioned it would when I saw the necklace in the first place and thought, "I could make that..."

There's a full tutorial on my blog, as usual.

Very clever with the spray paint, and I must say I think that yours is much prettier than the original.  Well done!

The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese. . . . I would rather have cheese.
