Hello,

I wanted to share that with you. I discovered Indian Embroidery one year ago, totally fell in love with it, spent a bit of money in courses (ouch it's costly Cheesy ) and now I can do really nice things.

Here is some of my work. The one above is my second one. My first one is here : http://theaoz.wordpress.com/2012/12/23/premiere-piece-detude/

Now I'm working on 2 pieces, one to do with my teacher on organdi, very delicate and intricate. But it's tough. And the other is my own design.

Is there anybody who does it here too ?

(I still do traditionnal embroidery so I have a lot of things to discover here)

That is REALLY pretty!  And the piece you're working on is equally gorgeous!  Can't wait to see the finished product!

I would LOVE to learn Zardosi, but no classes nearby unfortunately... And I don't seem to be able to lay my hands on an ari-needle either...

Thanks a lot !

Shakuntala, I have the same problem, they come through my teacher, otherwise nobody else sell them. I'll probably go to India next year, and I'll get some in advance. We'll talk about it then.

But there is videos on youtube on how to do it, it's explained a bit. And basically you have to keep in mind that you're doing the action the sewing machine does. The main important thing is to learn in which way you have to direct the hook.

That is a gorgeous piece! Do you mind my asking the time involved in making it?

No, of course, it must have taken about 20 hours.

And honestly, it's nothing compared to other pieces. I'm doing one on which I spent already a 100 hours  Shocked
