Unfortunately, everything on the bottom came off except for one piece, fortunately it was to a friend who was understanding and still totally thrilled.  I really love how this one turned out.  she supplied some of the pieces and requested that it lean more towards Slytherin House.  and, because I was already afraid that being tipped just a little would cause leakage if I used liquid "potion ingredients", I used all dry items (and it's a good thing too since the PO workers were obviously playing catch with the box and dropped it a few times).  I'm actually kinda mad at myself for not coming up with the Runespoor Eggs for MY table.  Tongue  anyway, here's the shadowbox:

CLICK THE PICTURE TO SEE A LARGER IMAGE

on the table, we have Skele-Gro, unicorn horn, vervain, runespoor eggs, salt, Tom Riddle's diary, Helga Hufflepuff's Cup, and a crystal ball.  there's also a long bottle with a eagle owl feather in it (I had no idea when I was picking out ingredients BEFORE she told me she wanted it Slytherin themed that Draco owns an eagle owl.  pure coincidence).  under the table, we have a pot of Floo Powder and Marvolo Gaunt's Ring.  you can also find Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem on a pedestal made from a wooden spool and an owl on the "floor".  above the owl is the Mirror of Erised with Nagini slithering over it.  in the middle is a winged key.  above the potions table is a pendant with "Amortentia" on it.

I really love how this one turned out.  you can see the first one I made here.

Absolutely amazing! But of course that's to be expected from you, KK! Cheesy

It's really sad that your box got messed up in transit. I'm paranoid about stuff like that happening so I write "FRAGILE" on anything I ship, even if it isn't. I know that doesn't always work though because I've received items marked "FRAGILE" that were broken.

thank you both!  Grin

oh this had "fragile" on it.  but like you said, things still get delivered broken.  one item I sent in a swap was received in about 100 pieces.  it was supposed to be a glass etched mug.  Sad  it was suggested that maybe I send UPS or FedEx next time.  HA!  have we forgotten why they've been in the news lately?  Tongue

That's awful!
Yeah, I know. In my area, UPS workers are pretty careful but the FedEx workers aren't. My mom once received a package from FedEx that looked like it had been stepped on and possibly kicked around. Thankfully the item inside was heavily padded or it would have been destroyed.

yikes!  someone on here once received a package in a swap we were in together that looked as though it had been run over.  there were tire marks on the box!!!  and my last HP swap package had one side of the cardboard box completely torn off and the case it was in fell apart the minute I took the straps off that the post office had to put on to keep the package together.  it just fell apart!  I couldn't believe it when nothing else was broken.

Post offices and delivery companies should really be more selective with who they hire.
Pretty things like this shouldn't be destroyed because of someone's carelessness.

they should.  if they hired me, the people on my route would have dent-free, damage-free deliveries...unless of course it was my day off.  and thank you.  Grin
