I *don't* have awesome photos of the Grand Opening of our huge new library, or the VIP event with the mayor and president of the school, or anything like that, because I was running around like mad trying to work... but what I do have is a photo of Clyde helping me with a few finishing touches (even though the library is already open).

(These slots are under the self-check-out stations and people were returning books there... not ideal. So I labelled them... with Clyde's assistance.)
For a second there, I was afraid Clyde was jumping in the trash! Grin Sorry you were so busy with the opening but CONGRATS on the big event!

Ironically, on a related topic, I had some library books to pick up the other day and I brought Anana with me! (Figured it was only fitting!)

(It's been under construction as they do a major expansion for about a year now.)

Checking out the books in the Florida travel section. Cheesy

Hanging out in the stacks.

How is everyone doing in regards to sending by Sept 30th?
We are in the final month now so please be sure to let your organizer know if there are any issues, your partner has disappeared, etc. I'd really love this round to have no flakers at all.  Cheesy

Clyde and I have some fun plans for September before he has to go home. And today I'm going to work early so we can take some fun photos in the library before I have to be at the reference desk!

Also, last night, I had a dream that I was on another vacation, taking photos of Clyde.

Wow, I can't believe its already the last month of this. I really have been having fun with Charlotte, but I've been absolutely, unforgivably horrible at telling you guys about it. So get ready for a reeeallly long post. Sorry Sad

Here are the long-ago promised Omaha zoo pictures:

Giraffes! (Mama and baby Smiley)

Rhinos!

Gorillas!

Leopards! (this guy came out for a single minute for us to get some great pictures, then went and hid)

Penguins!

Jellyfish!

Some sort of tiny deer creature!

I've got tons more adventures to share but they'll have to wait til tonight when I'm home again Tongue

And now, to complement phoenixfiredesigns' photos of Anana in a library... here's Clyde in my library! To help explain it a little, I work for the community college library, and we are now a joint-use library so the first floor is the public library collection, with a big awesome children's room, and the second floor is our collection and the reference desk and classrooms.

Here's Clyde doing my job at the reference desk. (Look at all that SPACE!)

This is facing the other direction away from the reference desk, looking at our computer lab on the second floor. That's 158 computers! That's what I get to look at while I'm at the desk. (Between questions, of course.)

The coolest chair in the children's room. Everything in the children's room is this color scheme, and has to do with local flora/fauna.

This installation in the middle of the children's room is A-MA-ZING. The company that made it said it's the largest one on the east coast, and it takes 30 visits for you and your child to explore everything on it. It works for kids of all ages, because it has things way down low for the crawlers and things at the top for walkers and older kids.

This is part of the public fiction collection that goes all the way down the front wall (which is really long... the building is bigger than two football fields!) and we have windows at random intervals... in the bookcases! Pretty neat.

There's so much more but I have to save something for the scrapbook...  Grin

Whoops, forgot to add a blog post link earlier... there are some more photos here:
http://clydeinvb.blogspot.com/2013/08/new-library.html

Our next big adventure is going to be an event I helped plan at the library (tomorrow) and this weekend is my birthday party... with a special gift to myself that Clyde will go with me to get! (Oooh, mystery...)
