I'm back to reality from vacation, and I finished blogging (both for myself and for Clyde) so here are a few select photos from the trip:

(This one is from Iceland, on what I believe is the Arctic Ocean.)

More, of course, at the blog:

(Go through "Older Posts" to go backwards through the Paris posts; there are 4 of them.)

I'm so jealous of Clyde's Parisian and Icelandic adventures! Very awesome. Grin

Sadly, Anana has not had nearly as much fun lately. Last weekend, my Mom's godfather (her dad's younger brother; my great uncle) passed away.

Today we spent the whole day at a funeral for Love's great aunt (grandfather's younger sister) who passed away on Tuesday after losing her battle with cancer. (Leaving behind her twin sister who also just lost her own husband less then 3 months ago.)

And my great aunt (my grandmother's younger brother's wife) lost most of a lung to lung cancer a couple months ago now has been diagnosed with liver cancer and is hoping a second opinion next week gives her any hope or chance. (The first opinion said there was nothing they could do.)

So just a lot of sadness around here lately. Cry I hope we can start having some more cheerful times soon and go and do some fun and happy things for a change.

We're back from France!
We visited the medieval city of Laon

And it's cathedral:

And another cathedral in Reims:

But most of all we had a lot of fun (there were 3 of us and D'ood but one of them is a bit of a photographer so she's missing on most of the pictures :p)

Seems like France is the place to be this summer!  I know two other people from the states who went to France too.  I love seeing all of your pictures.

Ah, France! I must go there before I forget the language.

Kylie:
The festival looks fun! I've never been to a big festival like this, just to the small students' ones. What is the chai tea? In Czech chai (but written čaj) means tea so chai tea is like "tea tea" for me Cheesy I googled it and it looks like something I know as Masala tea- Indian tea with milk and spices like cloves etc. I've never prepared it but we often drink it on some evening biological events and it smell marvelous! Is that the chai tea?
I like the Little Italy and your new dress! Smiley The landscape panoramas are always beautiful.
I especially love the church/caf idea- if I ever visit Australia I must go there, that's something for me Cheesy

I uploaded some new pictures from umava, day 3 Smiley
Local beer!

Is that the chai tea?

It is - it smells so yummy and tastes delicious.

Here's a photo from The Chai Cart's Facebook page of what goes into the tea (with a soy milk base - so they call it a latte). There looks like the ingredients are cinnamon, cloves, star anise, black peppercorns, cardamon, black tea, fresh ginger, nutmeg and another spice I can't identify at the front left Tongue

I am so jealous of the amazingness of the geocache's you find where you are - ours don't seem to be so interesting  Undecided

And a didgeridoo concert!! That's amazing - we have some talented indigenous Australians who do amazing things on a didgeridoo. Traditionally here you tap the trunks of trees to see if an appropriate size branch has been hollowed out by termites. These are the ones that are best to make didgeridoos.
