So I was just trying to clear up some space on my phone and realized I took Charlotte to the zoo in May and completely forgot to post the pictures!!! We got some really good ones too. I'll have them up in the next couple of days.

In other news, I'm working on some clothing items for her. I've been making everyday clothes in different styles with bits of fabric scraps. We're also discussing what she will wear to the ren faire in August. She's thinking a little more traditional with a long dress and maybe even a corset, while I think it would be super fun to try and make her jump ring chainmaile. She's also considering going home and surprising her mom with a (tasteful) ear piercing. We'll see!

It sounds like you guys are having lots of fun. I've never been to a ren faire, so I'll be excited to see Charlotte's pictures

Here's something from a month or so ago to answer the Something Local challenge....

There are jacaranda trees all over my neighborhood, and on a particular stretch of a couple of blocks there's one in the parkway (that's the strip between the curb and the sidewalk) of pretty much every house.  The trees are old enough that their branches stretch high and wide, and when the lavender-colored blossoms are at their peak they create a gorgeous tunnel:

And I love the beautiful contrast of fallen jacaranda petals on spring green lawns:

That's so cool, waterbaby! We have those here in Florida too. I posted a couple pics on my facebook page (here) but ours bloomed way back in March and April.

I got to go to our new library today to take some measurements and photos, so of course I brought Clyde along:

(I was there to photograph/measure the endcaps of the bookshelves, among other things, so Clyde is actually being quite helpful here.)

We went to Antwerp on Wednesday Cheesy Long live busy weeks, we went to see a play but we took some time to take pictures of the grand marketplace and the statue of Brabo. This statue is part of the story of how Antwerp got it's name. A giant was bothering boats in the canal and asking them for payement to let them pass. Then this man Brabo decided to end his reign, he beat him and cut of his hand and threw it in the canal as a warning. Antwerp(en) comes from hand werpen which throwing hands Smiley

Ok, first up! Pics from LAST weekend (Sunday the 16th) we went to Sunken Gardens (historic botanical gardens) in downtown St. Pete. Only managed about 20 minutes before it started to downpour and we wound up having to leave. But I did get a few pics and we can always head back again for more another weekend.

Bigger/more photos here: http://anana-visits-florida.blogspot.com/2013/06/sunken-gardens.html

THEN, I had my Etsy Craft Party event on Thursday, June 20th. It was all local etsy vendors, crafty demos, food trucks, etc. and it took place at St. Pete Shuffleboard Club.

Apparently showing my booth with the banner is "advertising" even though I was just trying to show the event, so I've replaced the photo with one from BEHIND the booth so you can still get the feel of my existence in the event but not break the rules.  Roll Eyes See the blog entry for more pics.

So there's some of what I've been busy with lately! Tomorrow, Love is thinking he wants to head back to Heritage Village again since we got there late last time and didn't have enough time to see everything. Not sure though, since it's hot out but maybe.

Anyway, yay! I finally got my pics offloaded and edited. Whoo hoo!
