Awww, I love the photo of Scarlett and Whisky Smiley I'm glad she has other critters to hang out with

We have been dying yarn like crazy. So boring for the LV's.. and I'm covered in so many colors of dye at any given time that people probably worry I'm contagious :-p

But, more exciting things are on the horizon... if all goes well we will go on a boat trip Friday. My boyfriend is a commercial fisherman and is getting ready to head out for the summer. Today we helped paint one of his boats. Mel and Tom posed for a photo with it -

And Rose showing the view from work. Not a bad view really.. we get to watch the boats, sea lions, eagles, etc.

Alby sure got around during his trip to Santa Barbara!

Franklin and I are working on a movie that is shooting through the end of this month so there won't be any outings until July, but I'm behind by at least three or four anyway so will post those when I have a chance.  And of course will post some pictures from the set -- which is actually a house, and the movie is very "small" (budget and other-wise), so it'll be a different kind of behind-the-scenes look.

Meanwhile, here's a flashback to when we went to an outdoor brunch a little while ago.  I picked up what I thought was a large orange dog toy ball...but turned out to be an orange from their tree; it was the as big as a grapefruit!  Our hostess offered to let us to take home, and Franklin got right into the act, fitting perfectly in the fruit picker:

And here's what we came home with:

They smelled like orange blossoms and honey and taste just as delicious!  I zested most of them and now have enough fresh frozen orange zest for half a dozen batches of baked goods...mmmmm....

Love the shot of Franklin picking oranges! I can't imagine being able to pick oranges. I've never been somewhere that warm!  Cheesy

Today we took the boat out for a shake down run.

Rose checked out the supplies -

And posed with the first king salmon of the year Smiley I promise she was never in any real danger

Mel and Tom gave steering the boat a try Smiley

and watched from a safe distance as he cleaned the salmon

I've been so busy this week, sadly it's been mostly boring stuff like working and examrevision with some of the little students so D'ood's been helping out but not having much fun. I'l try and post some pictures tonight or tommorow.

hi LV hosts!

Now that we've had a break for several weeks, lets have another go at a phot challenge!
This week, let's see :

A LOCAL TREAT.

Show us some snacks or meals or fruits, etc. local to your area.  Or, feel free to show us local happening that is also going on nearby.

I'll have some photos for this week's challenge next Friday and Saturday, but for now... we've been playing in the kitchen.

Violet Anne helped with the eggs:

And we tried making caudle, but... it didn't turn out like I thought and I tried augmenting it with raisins into a flan/bread pudding hybrid, but I forgot I hate flan, so...

But we had fun experimenting!
