I know I've been a little quiet but it was a crazy week (end of the semester, I went to a concert Tuesday, etc etc)... but here is my challenge photo for WORK:

I set up that display in the library in March. (It actually needs to come down, but we're moving our ENTIRE collection in a little over a week to the new library, so we're just leaving it up until then.) It was my first display! Do you see Clyde peeking out of the middle?

More photos from work on the blog:

i LOVED seeing the first pics of Rose -thank you so much Wildfyre Cheesy

and I've loved browsing through everyone's pictures - so interesting to see different worlds this way

Scarlett and I have finally uploaded some pics from our holiday.. see my blog post for all of them.. there are plenty and I'm sure you'll love them all, around half of the 40 odd pictures are of Scarlett Smiley

Here are a couple of my favourites (simply because I think you non-English-ites will like them too!):

Waiting for a tube train in London:

Looking at all the different types of Jam made in Essex:

phoning home:

and getting through a kissing gate into church grounds:

the vertical pictures are showing a bit big huh!! definitely I would advise heading over to the blog post linked above if you would like to see more pics of a quintessential English holiday.

Oh wow!  So many fantastic pictures lately, everyone!  And so many great photographers!!!

Alexampersandra, I cannot imagine moving an entire library's worth of books!  In college, I worked in the music library and it took FOREVER one time when we were moving just one section into a storage facility!

I'm hoping to be around enough (since I'm part-time) to get some photos of the process! We hired a moving company, as far as I know, but it will still be quite an undertaking.

Plus, the week after we take away all their books, we'll be starting a new computer system that makes patrons log in every time they want to use a computer... I feel like I'm going to get a lot of complaints this summer...

On a happier note, Clyde helped me make dinner tonight. (It's a little sad that this is such a rare occasion, I photographed it.)

I LOVE the photos of Scarlett, PaperBeau  Smiley The buildings and flora are incredible.

Here are a couple more photos from work for the challenge. Sorry if the yarn thing is getting redundant. We are supposed to have some nice weather next week so we'll get to do more sightseeing. It's been all pouring rain, hail, or snow lately  Tongue

Mel and Tom helped me wind some skeins so we could hand dye them Smiley

Rose was checking out the mini-rovings of mohair and silk. I love dying the silk, it takes colors so vividly!

this week's challenge is: HIGH PLACES!

Mountains? Bridges? Skyscrapers? Redwoods?

Pictures of them, or from them!  Have fun, everyone!

P.S. remember to post in the threads at least once a week so we can make sure you're all doing well!

Oooh I have a perfect high place in mind! But only if the weather gets better...

In the meantime, Clyde had some fun before we went in to work today. In Virginia Beach, we have dolphin statues everywhere, decorated by local artists to show important things in the city. The community college I work at has one on campus:

Same photo and a little more explanation at the blog:

Just thought I'd take a second to post a picture of Jax. Here he is at a local festival. The picture isn't great, but it was near-impossible to get good photos with as crowded as it was.
