Made the blanket in a granny square you start at the corner and work around three sides. I used Red Heart yarn. Made up the pattern for the Duck. Dont know who's getting it yet. Have three friends having baby's. Two are girls.

Very cute!  I love it!  You could maybe make 2 more with different animals? Then you'd have 3 for your friends' babies. My I crocheted a granny squared blanket for my daughter with that same Red Heart yarn, it sure does work up with a neat design.
