This is the first time I've attempted to dye anything besides my hair Wink.

I got this tank through a sale online and thought it would be much, much pinker, and lighter - so... light pink Smiley. But noooo... it was more like a nude color. When I put it on it looked like I was naked minus any obvious curve lines lol. Smiley this would not do! *think, think, think* I have a few packets of Rit dye from freecycling and purple? Why not try purple... Smiley so today I let the magic happen Smiley

I posted up a quick tutorial on my blog following the instructions for a single smaller item and used the bucket method. Here is the after and before pics Smiley all in all, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Smiley

Have you ever dyed something? If so what was it? How did it turn out?

Great job, I've never had great luck with dying.  It was never uniform...

Sometimes you get to change the world, and other times the world changes you.

Currently drowning in the sea called PhD.

Interested in swapping for I-Spy Quilt Squares and Scraps.

thank kjlutz! My camera didn't pick it up too well but there are some color variations. I'm just thankful it's no longer nude color Wink

I like the variation. I've done tie dye, but also dye in a spray bottle to create an ombr look, or bleach in a spray bottle to create a pattern. Usually after I've already got a spot on something. Lighter weight fabric in a pale color does best. I tried a faded pair of jeans and the color barely shows.

-i love to try new crafts, and learn new techniques. my strength is color pencils, but i also scrapbook, stitch, crochet, bead, any excuse to head to the craft store!
