If I'm seeing correctly, they are called ZOUAVE pants (pronounced zwaaaahve!) and MC Hammer wore a HUGE pair back in the day...the ones on your bottom pic are probably the most *flattering* but IMHO zouves are probably the most unflattering pants known to womankind....but anyway, you should be able to generate these from a standard pants pattern, either a pyjame type or a fitted pant, all you do is drop the crotch down as far as you want it, and get rid of the center front & back seams...think of a skirt, with legs!HTH

They look something like the traditional "trousers" men wear in Ghana-you'd think they'd be very uncomfortable, but actually that dropped crotch is to promote air circulation and cooling.

I heard it from a Ghanian man, so I spose he would know, as he was wearing them at the time.

Im Dutch they are called 'drollenvangers', and if I translate that to English that would make 'poocatchers'  Cool

hard to tell, but the second pair look like short harem pants (which in traditional turkish style have the crotch at about knee level)  there's several places online with basic patterns.  here's a few, or you can probably find others on Google, they're pretty common on sites about Belly-Dance

It doesn't feel like exercise when you're wearing chiffon.
