Hi there! I know these are pretty simple compared to most of the stuff in this category, but I like 'em simple. And besides, this was the first time using a zipper foot on my new sewing machine, so I'm darn proud of them!

The one on the right was a gift, and the one on the left I kept all to myself. Grin I know, I know, the sky one is all wrinkly and why didn't I iron it out - well, I didn't feel like dragging out the iron for two tiny little pouches, and also it got kinda wrinkled while embroidering. But, I have since learned how much ironing helps the sewing process.

Here's a close-up of the little birdie:

And the insides. I used some fat quarters I found for the outsides and the flowery lining, and the lavender lining on the sky one is actually scrap fabric off my prom dress! Oy, that stuff's been kicking around a while...

See? It's just a little bigger than a folded dollar bill.

I hope this inspires you, fellow craft dabblers! I can't find the tute I originally used to figure out the linings and such, but this one will get you there:

Thanks for looking, and happy crafting!

Whatever happened to the ongoing hoopla swaps?

Great job! I remember making my first zipper pouches and how proud of them I was. I love the batik fabric on the left one! Smiley

You were smart to make such pretty and useful pouches while mastering your zipper foot.
I recently got a new sewing machine with all the bells and whistles but have been scared to tackle anything.  Huh  Perhaps a couple of smaller projects would build my confidence.
You have inspired me!  Roll Eyes
