Woo! I made my ladybug yarn for the ALSA fundraiser this week. I am so happy with it! Well, I made 2. I have yet to decide which I will send.

First I made an inverted ladybug yarn. I got about 9.7oz and 340 yards out of this one, though.

About 3/4 the way through that one I realized what I needed to do to make the lumps look like I wanted them too (you gotta push the contrast color!) and I also realized that made those lumps way too big to pass through even my jumbo orifice so I changed things around a bit and came out with this yarn. It's ~ 195 yards and only 6.9oz.

And now I don't know which one I want to send to the silent auction. I think the second one would be better received? But if I send that one should I make more of it? I have more red and black Sheep Shed roving. Thoughts?

Lovely skeins, Jexxican.  I quite like them both.  The second one looks slightly like the one I have on the bobbin right now.... Lol

Love them both!  Wow!  The 2nd one screams LADYBUG!!

No spinning this week ... I've been playing around with my J loom.  I wove a couple dish cloths, then had warp left over so I used up bits and pieces of hand spun for a table runner

Up next was a Civil War Confederate carbine sling from the Spanish moss I prepped & spun

I really like the black one!  So here's my suggestion - sent the red one to the auction and send the black one to me!  Wink

Nice try, bunny. Wink

MLF, I remember you telling us about the moss. That is so cool! And Yes! to left over bits making pretty things. They both look great.

Bella, when we were talking about the ladybugs in the other thread I knew you were going to do one like that so that's why I did the inverted first. I can't wait to see your ladybugs!

Lovely creations, MLF!

Jexx, it's all good!  I have 2 lady bug yarns too.  I just pulled the second one off the bobbin. (literally, I put the skien in the "to be set" pile before I came to the computer!)  So either I set the twist on them today, or finish the other corespun and set the twist on aaaalll the yarn tomorrow.  I've given up on my homework for now (5 tiny skeins to go!  so dumb, but I need a break) so there are at least 5 skiens to be set....

So I've decided to send both of them, along with some rocks!

Ooh, Jexx, I love both those yarns.  The black one I would have wanted to keep for sure!  Nice that you sent both, and the rocks.  The red one feels very lady-buggy!!

Mullerslane - that's so cool that you spun spanish moss!!  So creative!!

I'm almost done with my ladybug yarn.  I'll probably post it for next Fiber Friday.
