Scribble Dolls
« on: March 13, 2013 09:49:50 PM »

I've always wanted to make a mermaid, so I was pretty excited when I was asked to make a doll based off a character from Bubble Guppies.

Oona is nine and a half inches tall.
Her hair is felt and her body is fleece and cotton.
She's actually the first doll I've made with felt hair!

I painted her face with artist acrylics and sealed it with a matte varnish.

I think the biggest challenge for me with this doll was finding a balance between her still being recognized as my style, while remaining true to her cartoon self. Smiley
I'm really happy with how she turned out! My one year old daughter has already made it very clear that she wants one also lol.

Now hopefully I can finally get that theme song out of my head....aaaaaaagh!  Grin
