I've seen a lot of tutorials around about using natural dyes for Easter eggs, so I thought I'd give it a try. I decided on three colors. Yellow, red and blue. I used turmeric to make the yellow, beet powder to make the red (which turned out to be pink), and red cabbage to make the blue.
Instructions are pretty straightforward; just take whatever you're using as the dye, add it to boiling water, add a little white vinegar, stir and let cool. Then add the eggs and let them steep in the color.
And here's the finished product:

I think they turned out quite nice.

i love the blue ones too- want to try tomorrow Smiley

*i also love the onion peel patterns- probably everyone knows about it already, but the one, where you wrap the peels around the egg and tie it with a thread a boil for a lil bit- makes also amazing patterns) Smiley

I just died eggs too - will get back with pictures later (whenever I've reached 10 posts...) Smiley I have this far made yellow (turmeric) and orange (yellow onion peel). I plan to make blue and green too!

I got a list from the below link, for the different colours:

Love them!  And thank you for the very simple instructions -- can't get much better than that!
