Ooh, I'm in on this.  I just have to look around and add things to my wists and really decide what kind of things I would want before I fill out my questionnaire.

I've been taking a look at some clothes...can anyone tell me how you sew a hem for doll clothes, say around the bottom of a sleeve?  Is there a trick, or a lot of hand sewing?

I usually sew doll hems with a sewing machine.  Just very small folding and stitching right on the fold.  The trick is to sew the hem of small areas, like sleeves before you sew the sleeve lengthwise.  So--imagine your sleeve fabric piece.  Flat- you just cut it out.  Now sew the hems.  Next attach to your bodice. (just make sure your sleeve is being sewn correctly against the bodice so you do not end up with your hem on the wrong side)  Lastly fold the sleeve in half to create the actual tube of the sleeve, and sew.  Work in the reverse of what you would do on a humans sleeve to be able to hem that tiny doll sleeve on the machine.  Hope that is not as clear as mud  Grin

I know exactly what you mean, I do that too.  Wink  It's very hard to get into the sleeve with the sewing machine, but you can do it by hand. I do a lot of small things by hand. Barbie Doll clothes I like to make by hand. The American Girl Doll clothes I do more on the sewing machine.  This will be so much fun, now my Doll will get some clothes. Every time I make something I give it away Or some I have sold. So it'll be nice for her to have clothes she does have underwear.
