I made this dress some months ago and wore it many times during the winter with long sleeved tops. But I prefer to wear it this way:

I finished the edges with bias binding and made topstiching lines at the armholes, the neckline and the pleats:

Good evening/morning!

Beautiful dress. I like how it hugs your waist and drops down without being puffy in the back. With the many wonderful dresses you showed us, you must have quite a big closet, you lucky girl!

Gorgeous dress!  And so well sewn.  I Love the piping and the fabric you chose.  Actually- I just love everything about it.

The piping is so pretty on this dress!

Do the patterns just fit you as they are or do you adjust them as you go?  I admire how well your dresses fit you through the waist and top...I have to always make adjustments as I am small in the boobs and large in the waist! Cheesy

Thank you sweet girl:)
hmmm....I'm small busted and large waisted too. I cut my standard pattern size and leave a little more room in the waist area. Some times I make adjustments simply by eye, because I don't have anybody to help me and I don't have a sewing  dummy. But (you will hate me for this:P) usually the clothes need no alteration at all. I' m kind of lucky because although I' m very short I have long torso, so the standard patterns fit me well. But I have used only pattern from burda magazine, I don't know what would happen with other pattern companies.

I need to try Burda patterns...the other ones just do not fit me anymore without a lot of work!  I also have to adjust the sleeves since I lift weights...I have huge arms! Cheesy

I might go look today at lunch...I want to make a dress for spring! Cheesy

Of course you must try them, they are very well drafted...but be carefull of the sleeves because they are usually very fitted and the armholes are small (compared to rtw, I don't know the patterns from other companies)
I' m waiting to see your dress:)
