Welcome to Leaf Springs where the sun always shines and the ride is always smooth!

This week on Project Quilting:  turn to page 28 of any magazine and use that as your inspiration.

Just don't let your husband pick the magazine.  Page 28 of Four Wheeler was an article about leaf springs.  The other quilters choose pretty home, garden, craft or quilt magazines and had lovely pictures.  I had a dirty pick up truck and leaf springs.  Arg!

The quilt is 14 x 20.  It is fused raw edge applique on a muslin base.  It is machine appliqued and the binding is hand stitched.

More pictures and details here.  http://twasbrilligand.blogspot.com/2013/03/welcome-to-leaf-springs-pq-45.html

That's a fun challenge! And hey, using a truck magazine breaks you out of your "rut" of your typical style, I bet Wink (sorry, couldn't resist) but seriously, I bet your husband loves it, and it turned out really nice!

Now that is an interesting challenge...maybe we should do one here with a picture selected and posted for our partner...wouldn't that be a fun swap?

hmmm

Of course, you did an excellent job!  It is such a fun and colorful quilt!

It would be a great challenge. But if you are going to use a magazine, don't pick a number much higher than 28.  Some people had trouble with not enough pages.

I am still pondering how best to do it as a swap.  But it could be fun.

We could scan a pic from a magazine and post it in the swap for our partner...everyone gets to see the starting page...then the partner has to make a small art quilt based on that page...

or

we could post a page once a month and do a craftalong? Smiley

I just think the challenge would be interesting to see...I think you could also do this yourself...pick a number, pick a magazine, get creative! Cheesy

I was going to suggest it as a challenge on the 50 projects page, but I think it could get to be really fun as a craft along.  You pick the page and folks can use any medium they want to make something inspired by it.

I think there might be copyright issues with this version. But I love the idea!
