I've had this shirt forever and ever. Loved the colors and the fabric, but I never chose to wear it. You know, those clothing items you love, but really don't fit or suit you, so you always pass them by? I passed this by for a couple of decades! And kept moving it from one closet to another. But, I finally took the plunge, grabbed my scissors and voila! A new tank top for summer.
Please excuse the pale model, it is a snowy day in the Northeast and summer is months away. But I never have time to sew in the Spring and Summer...so here I am with goosebumps.

This was the original shirt and the first cut. Always the hardest! I used another tank that I liked as a pattern. The shirt was not quite big enough at the bottom, so there was some piecing on the sides. Hardly shows. Also it was a bit tight across the bust, since the original shirt was a knit and this is a woven fabric, so knit gussets under the arms helped. And I always forget that there is never quite as much fabric as you hope, very little was left over. Some good quilt scraps though.

Now I cannot wait for lovely warm summer breezes!

That's pretty amazing! I love the fabric, and the new cut is very flattering.

Turned out great and comfortable looking. Bet you get a lot of wear out of it. Smiley

Oh wow, I have to make a tank top like this! The fabric is great and I love how the back yoke's fabric is different from the rest of the top. Great idea!
