I've been meaning to post this guy since I finished him last month but I was busy working on projects for the Walking Dead swap and forgot.  Roll Eyes But seeing Spikefan's awesome little Daryl reminded me! Cheesy

So I made another Daryl plushie; this time in his poncho, red button up shirt, leather vest (of course Wink) and brown pants! I make all my standing plushies one of a kind in terms of costumes, so I think this is going to be the last one until they give him something different to wear next season.  Cheesy ....Y'know, if he makes it to next season. *fingers crossed*

The poncho was made by recreating the poncho pattern in photoshop and then printing it on inkjet printable cotton. It closes with snaps on the back so you can play dress up with him. Wink

For the vest I tried something new this time around, I printed up the angel wing design on the same printable fabric, then glued it to the vest and painted over the design to give a cleaner, more authentic look.

Thank you for stopping by and having a look! Smiley

He is sooooooooooaweseome. I really love your way of using felt as hair and the poncho and vest and the garments in general are so good captured. Kudos.

Great job, he is adorable! Good idea with the snaps for the poncho, I hadn't thought of using them with my dolls before.

I hadn't used them before now either - but then I don't usually make removable clothing. If only their heads weren't so big things could be a little more functional. Wink

Do you have any tips on sewing/cutting the faux fur hair? I want to do a weasel/mongoose plush with hair like your Tenth Doctor (don't ask Tongue). Also, what do you use for the body? It looks like felt or fleece to me, but I'm no expert.

Um. I'm completely self taught so if there ARE tricks for working with it, I don't know them, lol. Take your time cutting the hair or it'll look chunky and blunt. The body is made of deersuede. Smiley

I definitely think the positive feedback is empowering. I dont have the best self confidence in anything, myself, or the stuff I make... seeing everyone at the poppet along liking my lil bunny poppet for my lil girl really made me want to keep at it and be proud of the stuff I made. =D You should finish the next ones, I wannna seeeee!!!!!! The suspense is killlling me!! <3

Hi I saw your work on Pinterest and fell in love with the plush Daryl Dixon, so cute! Would you ever consider selling them? I know a lot of people would definitely buy them (including me!) but I would say the man himself would love one (heard Norman Reedus is a sucker for stuffed toys)?

I totally agree I want one of these...I would most definitely buy one.  You should think about starting your own business on etsy or something.  You are so amazingly talented.  He is so cute and awesome.

Aww, thank you so much!  <3

I do sell my work and I'm always thrilled when they go to wonderful homes with amazing fans of the characters, sincerely touched that people want to own something I've created. For the most part though, I really just enjoy trying new things; I'm most happy when I get to play 'mad scientist crafter' and remaking dolls over and over just tends to de-motivate me and suck all the fun out it, that's why my standing dolls are generally one of a kind creations.

I just have to hope that the right person finds the right doll at the right time. Wink

I was never really interested in felting (looked like too much work, so I didn't know you could felt doll faces (I've always embroidered faces on my plushes, which was fine with my goddess primitive voodoo-like dolls, but I've been wanting to expand past x and v stitches)!!

Inspired by this post, I picked up a felting kit and added eyes to my first plush this AM. This is soooo much easier than embroidering, since its easier to move the fluff around, I don't have to hide knots, I can pull off fluff if I make mistakes, I can make mostly symmetrical eyes -- Thanks sooo much for this!! Most awesome!

Best,
Novena*
