I sometimes hate googling for patterns on the internet because they send you to a site that will spam you.
So as a beginner I need help with a simple pattern.

There are literally thousands of projects posted on craftster. Hundreds for beginners. It's hard to say what exactly "beginner" level is, because you ddint really specify... Like, never made a project, have made some projects but still dont feel you're "intermediate" yet? Try running a search for "potholder" or "granny square" or "socks" or "scarf" or "blah" using the "this board only" function on the crochet boards and youll get loads of results. We try to have members use the search function before posting questions like these because often times your questions will be answered Grin

If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask! Id really try running a search first, though. Gotta do a little bit of digging yourself before anyone else can help you! Grin

Why not a scarf? That was my first knitting project and then was my first crochet project. The flatness helped me to see when I was making even stitches and when I hit my stride, so to speak.
