I went to the vintage show this sunday morning and bought a few pictures to use for this challenge.  This one of a simple forest of trees spoke to me most.  I wanted to fill it up with woodland creatures.

I chose to do two wolves, and with a dusty orange thread.  I like how it doesn't totally jump out in colour and tone.  Stitching the photo turned out to be a bit messier than I imagined, and where I put the holes too close the paper tore.  I didn't know how to finish it, and decided to glue it to a matt board and roughly paint a black frame.  I'm not sure that was a great choice, but overall it was a fun experiment and I like the results.

Here's one picture of the whole piece, and one closer up.

I really like how the orange on the sepia-toned photograph provides just the perfect amount of pop. A very fanciful, yet grounded, piece!

This is way cool! They look like ghosts or spirits in the forest. Awesome!

I agree with kittykill, there's a supernatural feel to those wolves.  I love the idea of adding something to the photo that wasn't there to begin with.

I also love that you added something to the photo that wasn't there before - great idea! If I was walking in the dark forest, I would wonder what hidden eyes were peering at me from the trees, and this picture gives that feeling. Eerily cool!

I did a little write up on Feeling Stitchy about the challenge. Check it out! I featured your piece as well as the other entries.
