Thanks! White just isn't a fun color to stitch in, you know? It's just so boring.

I have been working on this since last fall.

I have made more progress on it than that, but I am still not done. I will have to take a moment to get an update pic. Cheesy

After a while of working on it, I see french knots... like in the distance and up close and floating around... even in my sleep. So I have been using that as a poor excuse to take month long breaks. It's for my daughters room, so I am determined to finish it by this coming fall!

I should have come to this board a long time ago. I have a massive project planned but haven't got supplies yet.

As for the scroll frames, I bought one a long time ago but I'm not sure it's big enough for my project.

I would probably go crazy with all those french knots. Looks cool, though.

Omg that is soo pretty, amigurl55!!! I really look forward to the finished piece!!
And that zombie picture on the first page is awesome too!

I'm just starting out so I haven't tackled big things (or even small things) yet. Just trying some random stitches. If anyone has any tips for a newbie, I'd love to hear them!!

Thanks! Right now I'm doing what my friend calls "confetti"- lots of little specs of lots of different colors. She taught me a little trick so it's not as annoying.

As for beginning tips- there are a lot of simple patterns on Etsy that are great for starter projects. I recommend andwasabi's shop. There are also kits specifically for beginners at craft stores like Michael's or Hobby Lobby. The designs aren't very hip, but you get easy to follow instructions and the thread comes with it.

I now have all my supplies gathered for this. However, I'm pretty sure it's going to take me more than a year to do as it it ginormous. Can any one say 18 count 18 in by 27 in insanity. (Oh, and there are 97 different colors.)

So now that I've been gridding my fabric I realized that the pattern gave the measurement sizes wrong.  It is actually a lot smaller. So I have to go out and get a smaller cloth later.
