the local community is having an online auction to raise funds to put a free splash pad in town, summers are humid.  so i volunteered a quilt.
i tried to keep it simple. so it was quick. and hope it’ll raise a few bucks.

Super cute! What a great cause, I realized late last summer we had splash pads at a lot of our parks instead of the old wading pools. They are awesome!

Oh.  That's not even the tip of the iceberg ...  The scraps, the scraps have a life of their own.

I haven't made a quilt before, but I'm thinking about trying to make one like this. Yesterday by a happy mistake I ended up going through all of your posts, and I'm more motivated than before! I have TONS of scraps! I also just bought a quilter's ruler yesterday as well!

To be honest, after looking at some peoples posts about their quilts and seeing how angry/sad/fustrated they got during the making of their quilt, I was getting a little nervous about trying. I'm glad I looked at your posts because you didn't have a single one talking about how your quilts are going to wake up and kill the human race or something like that!

 Grin
I'm sure some are. The quilt that did not want to be made was vexing. As was the hundred million dollar quilt (that's how much i would charge to make another one).

I think that expecting and demanding perfection of yourself is a sure fire way to kill enthusiasm.

But even when something doesn't go my way. And i have to slam the sewing room door.  Eventually when the problems solution drops into my brain, it makes the feeling of accomplishment so rewarding. That and seeing someone's face when they open and unexpected blanket. Smiley

I won't tell you about how hubby teases me that I have turned quilting into an extensive sport tho. Wink

Individual blocks finished at 3.5 inches. Big squares are 14inches.

It looks great!
So pretty and colourful.
And how kind of you to donate it to a good cause!
(Although being over here in Belgium I have no clue as to what a splash pad is...)
