I also participated in the MAQ 6 Swap. My wonderful partner working my creativity skills by being rather specific in what she wanted: really wanted a table square/runner, wanted it to be visible/make sense from all angles, wanted to be able to place something in the middle (like a vase of flowers) without ruining the design. (Well, she had a lot of choices of what to do, but these ones stood out as what she would really like). I chose the Christmas theme and this is what I came up with:


The whole things is around 2ft x 2 ft. I got a new fancy sewing machine for Christmas and I wanted to practice a bunch of the stitches so they're a good number of different kinds. Also, my first time doing applique! Here's some close ups:




I think my favorite part are the snowflake-like stitches on the branches of the trees. Smiley I'm pretty please with my first applique experience. I learned a lot for next time, however. Thanks for taking a look!
