Naantje, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandma. It's hard knowing you can't alwasy be with her - I'm guessing you have her stocked up on craft supplies, puzzle books, reading material and the like though, so even you you are not there, she can look over and see how much you care and know that you are there, really.

92 is a remarkable age, and getting there with all our mind is simply a blessing!
I hope her problem can be solved and you can get some more years with her. I'm sending good vibes your way!  *hugs*

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: DADA
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Patronus Bracelet
Project Page Link (if available): -
Brief Description: Ever since I started learning about totem animals and patronus animals I've always considered mine to be a crow.  So here is my patronus bracelet.  The stones are dyed jasper, jasper being a great protective stone and also gives the wearer healing and stabilization.   I'll need that if I'm ever in a fight and need to call on my patronus!  There's also a little bird dangle to represent the crow in flight.

Naantje My  thoughts and prayers are with you and your grandmother.

I hope that you don't mind that I jump in here late in the semester

Class/: herbology
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name:crystal song Bird tree

Brief Description:

I love when everyone finishes their spring cleaning as it can mean only one thing- patio Sales!! (for you American wizards yard sales) I have spent quite a few weekends searching for treasures, when I came upon a sale at a very tiny cottage on a cobbled stone road owned by a lovely old wizard who was, as he put it "clearing his rubbish", and I was more than happy to help by purchasing a very large box filled very old magic books, One book I found particularly fascinating titled Crystallus Protestas I roughly translated it to mean magical gems or gem magic.

I came across a potion in  Crystallus Protestas that creates greens gems that generate sounds unable to be heard by humans but attracts magical songs birds-I decided to attach the gems to branches so the song birds attracted by the gems would have a place to sit as they serenade me -

In another book I found a charm that conceals messages from non magical folk and was able to successfully conceal parts of this post from muggles who might happen upon it. The following bit is meant for muggles, but can be seen by wizards as well.

Aparecelaverimus!!

This is the second beaded bird tree I have created, The first was created a few years back for a swap and I have always wanted to make one for myself- so I finally took the plunge, I completely forgot how long it took to create the beaded branches.
The leaves were created using Glass E beads, floral wire and floral tape, The bird were made with crayola model magic and was quite interesting to create- I had purchased the clay on clearance and had several packages and decided to use it for the birds because as it is light weight and would not weight down or bend the branches. If you have ever use model magic you will attest that it does not hold details very well, so I resorted to painting them-I then attached clips to the bottoms of the birds to attach them to the branches- that makes them removable but also allows them to hold notes and bits of trims when on my work table

Thanks for all your well-wishes! The procedure yesterday was successful, they needed two attempts but managed to place the stent in position. Shortly before we left, she was able to pass a stool. I didn't know one could be as happy with a bowel movement as we all were yesterday. She's not out of the woods yet, but if her bowels stay active in the next few days, she'll have weeks to months, in stead of days to hours, and she's not in serious pain. A bit of cramps and soreness, but she's on regular paracetamol, nothing stronger.

I've ripped out all my OWL progress and then some (over a full ball of yarn!) because I made a mistake when I tried adding a row of ajour to the blanket and fixing it really wasn't working. My aunt helped me to frog it back to a critical point and solve my mistakes from there. Learnt my lesson: it's better to frog sooner rather than later! I've switched from single crochet to doubles to make it less heavy too. All singles in the middle, where it will cover the baby's back and really needs to be warm, a bit looser doubles on the edges, which will be folder over each other anyway Smiley
