I'll finish him, I just doubt he'll be considered an OWL. I'll find SOMETHING to do for an OWL though.

@Abbee: Love your Retro Apron!  And your Evelyn Scarf is GORGEOUS!  And YAY House Unity tees!!!!! (make sure to pick up your House Unity Badge)  Please note, that you have already found the Diary Horcrux (Portkey to Post).  You can destroy each horcrux only once.  You may submit your apron for another class or challenge; just PM or post where you like it to go.  As for your hunt, you are missing just one horcrux, Harry Potter.  You can check your Hunter Status anytime at 12 Grimmauld Place.  PM me if anything is amiss.  Best of luck! Cool

I'd love to take credit for the awesome apron and scarf, but those belong to tiamatfire. Wink
I did have...as my kiddos call it...a brain fart. Tongue  Thanks for letting me know; I've corrected my mistakes.  And thank you to tia for PMing me! Kiss  HPCers, PM me anytime if something is amiss.  I'm human, so mistakes are bound to happen, but I am happy to fix them and thrilled to have your help.  Never hesitate in PMing me! Grin

Class: Study of Ancient Runes
House: Gryffindor!
Project Name: Wheel of the Year Stitch Markers

Project Page Link (if available): http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=423008.0#axzz2RU5HvjHr
Brief Description: This set of stitch markers was made for Maman Tattoo, in an effort to bring joy to her day and to her crafting.  There are 9 markers.  One for each of the 8 holidays in the Wiccan Wheel of the Year; Samhain, Yule, Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Litha, Lammas & Mabon. The 9th is a pentagram to unite them, and as a reference to the Rule of Three, which states that the energy that a person puts out into the world will come back to them three times.  Therefore there are 3 times 3 markers.  The beads are semi-precious stones.

Here they are as a set. Starting clockwise from the top row left, they are:
~Pumpkin with a carnelian bead for Samhain; carnelian thought to lend its energy to others.
~Evergreen tree with an aventurine bead for Yule; aventurine is thought to enhance regeneration and bring luck.
~Cauldron and an obsidian bead for Imbolc; obsidian is thought to block negativity and symbolizes resilience.
~Rabbit and a blueberry quartz bead for Ostara; blue quartz calms the mind and inspires hope.
~Broom with an amethyst for Beltane; amethyst brings pleasant dreams and promotes healing.
~Bonfire and yellow agate for Litha; agate is thought to give a person the strength to carry on.
~Sheaf of wheat and a garnet for Lammas; garnet is used for protection on journeys and constancy in friendships.
~Apple and cherry quartz for Mabon; cherry quartz is thought to bring clarity.
~And at the center a pentagram and white quartz bead to complete the set of 9.  Quartz is used to aid in meditation.

Teeny tiny OWL update.  I hit a brick wall with my project, so I'm going to revamp it a little bit.  I'm extremely far away from my 1000 squares, so I'm going to start over, and make it stripes instead!  Less blocks to sew together that way!  Wink  I will post a pic of progress tomorrow, as I'm off work today and should be able to get a hefty start!

Great cake too - I'd love to try it but I don't think a GF batter would hold up to rolling!

Challenge accepted, challenge completed.

Here's my gluten free rolled cake.  I'm so excited about this.  There will be another made this weekend for my father in law (he always expects me to bring him gf goodies).

I used the same recipe, I just used gluten free flour (1 cup) -- I like featherlite flour by Augason Farms, it's a mix of white rice, sweet rice, tapioca, and potato -- and a half teaspoon xanthan gum (makes the batter hold together better).

Made another!  Star Trek geeky gluten free with whipped cream filling. This time I tried two colors for the communicator badges. And... Best yet!  I seriously had to really think hard to see if I used white flour instead of gf.  I made it in the morning, and we ate it after dinner.  I think the extra time let the cake suck in more moisture and lose the texture of the gf flour.  Again, I love the featherlite!
