Class: Potions
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Boyfriend's new wallet
Project Page Link: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=422781.0
Brief Description: When I inhale the vapors from Amortentia, I smell Altoids, leather, and chocolate. A strange combination indeed but these scents remind me of my boyfriend who likes those three things. Like many men, my boyfriend will use his wallet until it's in pieces. So I decided to make him a new one. Sadly, my sewing machine didn't take kindly to the scrap of genuine leather I had, even though I adjust everything and had a heavy-duty needle. Not one to give up easily, I dug out some synthetic leather and fused it to some heavy duck cloth to make it sturdier like real leather.

Do you mean Biscoff Spread?
yes, basically Smiley That's a different brand, but it looks like pretty much the same stuff.

Well, it's a rebranded brand, but it's still the same company. It's like how Magnum and Cornetto are sold by company "Ola" in Belgium, "Algida" in Italy, "Frisko" in Denmark, "Wall's" in the UK, etc. It is the exact same speculoospaste, only the label is different Smiley

Is it now available where you are noodle-bug?  Because it's being sold all over the place here in the States now. If you can't get it easily where you are, next time you do a swap, you might want to ask your partner if they'd be willing to add a jar to your swap package.  You know, for the days you just don't have time to drive to another country!   Cheesy

S.P.E.W. Bulletin...

Call for Charity Recipients

Your Hogwarts chapter of The Society for the Promotion of Everyone's Welfare is calling for information
on charities that need assistance after this dramatic week in America and abroad.

Americans this week have had several events affecting large numbers of people- specifically the situation here in Boston at the marathon on Monday and then last night in Texas where a fire at a fertilizer plant resulted in an explosion which devastated the town it is in- including a nursing home located nearby.  (For more information: http://www.cnn.com/2013/04/18/us/texas-explosion/index.html )

At the time of this bulletin we have not received information for new charities/situations outside of the U.S. and invite research from other members. All students are encouraged to share information about the organizations in their communities and the ways in which we of S.P.E.W. can help.

Students should feel free to post here in this thread, send information by owl to the chapter president Ant Bee and/or to post directly in Headmistress Pinkleo's thread specifically for SPEW. ( http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=412546.0#axzz2QjBE9D5i )

As charities and recipients are determined I will be sure to forward the information to you.

Thank you for your attention and support.

Harry witnessed Professor McGonagall walking right past Peeves who was determinedly loosening a crystal chandelier and could have sworn he heard her tell the poltergeist out of the corner of her mouth 'It unscrews the other way.

Yep, we have it here now - i reckon it would be hard to find in the UK outside of London, but i've found a local supply :-)

Hello HPCers.  This week has certainly been filled with sorrow with the bombings in Boston and explosion in West, TX.  This week has also been filled with overwhelming courage and kindness.  I want to take this moment to send blessings to you.  ~*Be blessed & be safe*~
