Hi there,

Things are settling down again in the annoyingly intrusive-to-fantasy RL and the allergies/cold germs seem to be waningfor the mo' so now is a good time for me to turn in some homework.  Yay, fantasy life!

Class: Arithmancy
House: Slytherin
Project: My Mama's Birthday Cake
Description: Pretty self explanatory, really, but here goes: I baked two cakes and stacked them together to make a 2 layer delight.  I then frosted the two of them as one and wrote across the top.  I know it isn't perfect, but at least I didn't sit on it before I gave it to her!
Picture: (Please forgive the horrible focus. It was eaten before I could retake the shot.)

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Class:  Apparition + SPEW
House: Slytherin
Project: Bunny Baby set
Description:  Here is the second bunny hat, slightly larger than the first along with the crochet blanket that goes with it.  These are also part of the NICU packet I am putting together for delivery soon.  I was hoping to have a bunch of the hats done before Spring got underway but the Muggle knitting just takes too long and I haven't mastered wand knitting yet.  Oh well, I'm happy to have any done at all. Smiley
Picture:  Here is the set along with the first hat so you know I am being honest. Smiley

That's all the completed stuff I have for today.  I do have a question for the Divination Class assignment: Could one use Tarot cards, or are we to focus on the standard playing deck?

I hope everyone is feeling better and that the wave of illnesses has moved through the castle and is over now!

Happy Crafting!

I finished my OWL Cheesy I took photos too, but they didn't come out to well so I'm gonna try to get more tomorrow

in the mean time, a smaller project to share:

Class: Herbology
House: Ravenclaw
Project: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=421918.0

Now, I wasn't really intending to study herbology when I made this tea wallet with built in mug rug... but then I noticed that the floral print was clearly trying to eat up that bunny!!
look at it here, luring the rabbit in with promise of a cup of tea...

and then... snap, the flowers close up and the bunny is gone!

Shocking stuff, and a lesson to us all

And the cruel irony is that it says "relax" on the cover.

Class:  Ancient Runes
House: Hufflepuff
Project: Peeps Cards
Description:  Have some friends across the country I really wanted to feel comfort and joy so I made up these Easter cards for them.  Carved a quick peep bunny stamp and had fun making pretty cards for them.

Class: Divination
House: Slytherin
Project Name: "It's in the cards" earrings
Brief Description: I have always had a love for things with a card motif. I wonder if that means I should practice my Divination more? The aces symbolize focus, action and energy. (The dice are just for visual interest.)

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Herbology
Gryffindor Extra Credit: Both the carving and the stamping of this bad boy were pretty messy...
House: Gryffindor!
Project Name: Lino Cut Stamp
Brief Description: This stamp is carved into a piece of linoleum accioed from the local high school (my friend just happens to teach there...). I hadn't done this since high school, and it was a lot of fun, but takes great care and time to carve just right. I did go to the weave in the back a few times, but barely any of my cuts show on the stamped piece! I carved a symbol my husband hopes to use for his future metalworking business to stamp onto promotional t-shirts and such (if we ever make it that far!).

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Study of Ancient Runes
Gryffindor Extra Credit: The circle symbol is implied in the saying, and the great cycles of life and love, if not explicitly drawn out
House: Gryffindor!
Project Name: Grandparents Cross Stitch
Brief Description: My MIL is turning 60 this weekend, and I wanted to make her something special. I used the same Martha Stewart's Cross Stitch Templates that I used for my cross stitch families last year. This time, I made my in-laws and my kiddo (their grand-kiddo) and added a feel-good quote to the top. There's nothing more comforting than family (even in-laws!). I'm not sure about the frame. I think I'm going to search for a new one before I gift it.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Study of Ancient Ruins
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Dog sayingpainting
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: (how it fits the requirements, pattern/techniques/recipe used, any fun tips, etc.) I saw this saying on pinterest a while ago and have loved it ever since then. Dogs are the epitome of joy to me with the wagging tails and happy faces, and my dog fills me with so much joy everyday that that my home just wouldn't be the same without her.

First, I must say that I got an exciting owl today (literally squeeed when I read the message), but don't want to jinx anything by revealing too soon.  Just keep your fingers crossed for me. Cool

Now to let me gather my updating supplies....cup of earl grey tea..check...magic quill..check....pre pared to cast points spell..check...and something to nibble on...ah, grapes, perfect...check...I'm ready to dive in Grin!

@CraftyLadyMJ: I adore your Spring Poncho, lovely colorway.  And I completely agree about the weather; ours has been up & down which is making me nose nutty & stuffy.  Hopefully it settles down soon so I can get to planting.  And adore your Soap Bean Project!  Also, ~*PM OWL Approved*~  Your plans sounds well thought out and fits the Potions prompt wonderfully.  Sending you blessings of luck!

@pattyO: Your Lapifors spellwork is SOOOO CUTE!!! LOVE!  And MUST, MUST, MUST  try your Soap Engorgio Spell! Grin

@PenguinSoup: I just abhor when I run out of yarn during a project, which is why I end up buying tons extra if I can...but then I end up with lots of oddballs...but then I end up trying to use oddballs & end up with not enough yarn..woolly woes indeed Tongue

@tia: The party looks amazing!!!  All you crafty magic makes it extra special!  And ~*OWL Approved*~  Your Patronus Blankie sounds wondrous.  Sending blessings of luck and ((hugs)) for your return to work.

Ant Bee: In my home, the shot would have been a blur since my kiddos are chocoholics. Wink  Wonderful & Yummy Arithmancy Work!  And Super SPEW work!  I just love those bunny hats! Grin  And YES, you may use tarot cards for Divination.

@noodle-bug: YAY for Herbology!  Be back in a bit to reveal the badge.  Love the combo of tea wallet & mug rug!

@FreakieGeekie: And YAY for Divination, the last class to be revealed.  Be back in a bit with your badge. Cool

@Abbee: Great stamp!  And love your SoAR cross-stitch! Grin

@travelgirl: Pets do bring such joy!  And your pup pic surely made me smile! Grin

@Maman: Wondrous coffee table makeover! Shocked  LOVE!
