~*Hogsmeade Challenge*~
~*Begins March 17, 2013. Ends May 1, 2013.*~

Headmistress pinkleo gathers all the students and announces, "We are taking a trip to Hogsmeade Village.  Make sure to have your signed permission slip turned in."

Students rejoice and quickly start grabbing their moleskin purses and cozy woolies.
Upon their return, Headmistress gives students the following extra-credit assignment:

"I hope that everyone enjoyed their trip to Hogsmeade.  Now, I am giving all students the opportunity to earn a few extra House Points for their house.  Your extra-credit assignment is to create a project that represents any location within Hogsmeade Village.  This project can represent a location in general or an item that can be found in a location.  Make sure your project description clearly explains what location you were inspired by.  Remember we are studying Hogsmeade, so only locations within Hogsmeade will qualify.

Again, this challenge is for students looking to earn extra points for their house so one CANNOT combine this challenge with any other class or challenge.  Once you complete this challenge, you may snag your Hogsmeade Badge below."

To claim your badge, right click and save to your computer.  Then, you can do whatever you wish with it.  Ideas on how to showoff your badges: use it as an avatar, put it in your profile under Brief Bio, or create a pinterest board for all your badges.  Can't find a badge?  Head to the Badge Station located on the first page, fifth post of this thread.

You are welcome to do any, all, or none of the HPC Challenges.
Remember, they are just here to help get your crafty muses singing! Grin

Challenge: SPEW
House: Gryffindor
Gryffindor Quidditch: Seeker-crafting something shiny
Project Name: I'm addicted to making squares!
Charity: Afghans for Pine Ridge & Knit-a-Square
Brief Description: My SPEW Sunday submission.  It was so nice to get back to my hook and yarn after such a long time away....yes, I went through a bit of withdrawal.  Here is the squares I whipped up since my return, 5 for Afghans for Pine Ridge and 1 for Knit-a-Square.
Project Picture:

And for my Seeker practice, here's a closeup of one of the red square to show that they have shiny threads within.

Class: Transfiguration
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Teeny Weeny Wabbits
Project Page Link (if available):Pattern from this book
Brief Description: To practice the Lapifors spell, I thought going small and beginning with a material I knew well would produce the best results. In my yarn stash were some yarn samples my mom had picked up for me after visiting an alpaca farm. These were the perfect colour for some palm-sized bunnies, especially if you happen to be six. The pattern came from my well loved The Children's Year craft book and for those of you who would like to knit up some quick bunnies, I'll be glad to post the pattern.

Had to make a duck and chicken, too.

" downtown abby" is on tonight, and i don't usually watch it. my daughter noticed proffessor McGonnagal though all dressed up. and was very surprised to see her wearing pink.

No problem, jenleahlynn! Here is the recipe:

First of all I started with a package of 8 store bought frozen tart shells. I let them thaw 20 minutes and then stabbed them each with a fork a few times to give them some little holes to prevent them from bubbling up.

In a bowl I mixed:
6 eggs
2 1/2 cups milk
greek seasoning

Before spooning my basic quiche mixture into the tart shells I put a generous pinch of herbed feta crumbles on the bottom. Then I spooned the mixture into each tart shell. I put another pinch of feta crumbles and a tiny chunk of butter on top of them. I put a baby spinach leaf on top of all of them and then put them in the oven at 375 for 25-30 minutes. When the timer went off they weren't quite browned so I watched them for another 2 or three min.

Well, that's how I made them, I hope that helps!
