Congratulations WotW!  Amazing Crafty Magic!
And jennie, that badge is STUNNING!

Both of these sentiments are my thoughts EXACTLY!

Yay for Spring Semester!! Welcome Gryffindor Students! I'll get some Gryffindor Extra Credit up soon and I know Maman has some fun planned for Quidditch!

Thanks for the CFC headmistress! Starting Spring right! Smiley In that spirit, here's a special CFC for all Gryffindor's returning students! Thanks for making Gryffindor a great house to head!

~*It's Advanced Studies Friday!*~

We here at the HPC want to motivate you during your OWLs and NEWTs, so Headmistress pinkleo has announced that Friday shall be the day to show off your OWL and NEWT progress.  You of course can show off you Advanced Studies at any time, but this will get you motivate for the weekend to craft!  Don't have an OWL or NEWT?  Then pop over to the Wizarding Tests Exam Room to find out how to get started.

~*NEWT Update*~
I've actually gotten nothing done on my NEWT since Sunday.  So the latest picture that I posted is still where I'm at.  Thank goodness the wedding isn't until May!  Hope everyone else's Advanced Studies are moving along better than mine.   Smiley

sammielouise, please list what Subject you are submitting your Bookcase ATC's for.  Right now you've left that line blank.  Smiley

Oh holy heck! I have 14 pages to catch up on in the Winter Semester and now 4 here! You crafty witches rock!  Ok, before I do all of that though I have a Completed OWL!! Yay woohoo!

OWL Subject & Option (if available): Charms, Geminio charm (from Fall semester 2012)
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Multiple recipes, multiple cookbooks
Project Page Link (if available):n/a
Brief Description: Ok, so in the fall/almost Winter semester, I began these cookbooks. I was making them for multiple reasons (birthdays and wedding) and it took a LOT of writing. I went through all of my favorite recipes and cookbooks and wrote them down three times each. I tried writing 3 recipes each day, for a total of 9 but sometimes that didn't work especially the closer to Christmas it got. But I finally got it all done a few weeks ago and here they are! And something went a bit wonky! While all of my recipes are identical (as it gets with hand writing) my book cover seemed to turn out each a different size and color. Ah well, maybe more practice. Smiley

and, yes, I totally use my kids Princess table for my projects Wink

You guys should have heard the squeal when I got my WotW badge! It is so pretty! Wish it was huggable... Cheesy

Anyway. Since it IS advanced studies Friday it is only appropriate that I should post my first NEWT proposal....

Newt Subject: Astronomy
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Zen Zodiac Paintings
Project Description: Nothing is a better study of the stars than the constellations that make up the heavens that we see every night. There are ten zodiac symbols and each relate back to a constellation. I am going to spend the next 5 weeks designing and painting my interpretation of the zodiac with a combination of zentangle-like doodle and watercolors. I will focus on two paintings a week, making ten total paintings on watercolor paper of various sizes. These will be very elaborate!
Week 1: (because my bday is this week) will be Pisces and Aries.
Week 2: Virgo and Libra
Week 3: Scorpio and Cancer
Week 4: Gemini and Aquarius
Week 5: Taurus and Leo
Each week breaks down into two days to design both paintings and then 2 1/2 days to paint each one. Hopefully I can stay on top of this.... Undecided
 Grin Grin Grin
And this will be due no sooner than April 5th, right?

House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: OAHPT
Brief Description: (how it fits the requirements, pattern/techniques used, materials using, plan of action, expected timeline, etc.)

Erin, congrats on being the first WotW of the semester! I can't wait to see the result of that Newt!!
And Jenn. that badge is so pretty. I need to get it!

I'm set on my next O.W.L, since I won't be able to show my NEWT progress here Wink

OWL PROPOSAL:
Class: Alchemy, Option 2-The Four Elements of alchemy are Fire, Earth, Air and Water.  Craft a project that represents all four of these elements.
House: Gryffindor
Explanation: I will design and craft 4 dolls representing each of the elements, dolls that are playable and lovable for young children, a project I wanted to do for a long long time. I want to design and offer a (free) pattern for others to do them as well, so I want to make them as simple and pretty as possible. They will be either sewn, crocheted or knitted, I plan to try out the 3 mediums to make them and choose what works best.

And some have posted assigment already!! You amaze me girls!

Oh, and GRYFFINDORS!!! The Quidditch practice challenges are up. We're changing things a bit for this semester. Go check in the 2nd page for our Quidditch pitch

Congratulations ErinAquaheart! I witnessed first hand the amount of hard work your put into that OWL and you totally deserve to be Witch of The Week!

Maman I am so excited to see those dolls when they are done! That is such an awesome idea for an owl!
